Coronavirus and North Sulawesi

March 14, 2020

With countries world-wide locking down to keep the COVID-19 virus in check, the consequences for us businesses in North Sulawesi, are once again hitting us hard.

If the recent lack of flight tickets wasn’t impact enough, the global coronavirus outbreak has as all in its iron grip. What are we doing to deal with this? Succinctly, all NSWA member resorts have committed to direct action to minimize risk to both staff as well as guests.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • regular hand washing
  • strict coughing and sneezing “protocols”
  • sending sick staff home as soon as symptoms occur
  • disinfection of rental equipment
  • instruct guests and staff on prevention methods

Last but not least, most if not all resorts have relaxed their cancellation policies in some way. Concerned visitors will have the chance to move their bookings or make bookings without downpayments until shortly before the arrival date.

It is with these measures that we hope to be able to continue to offer the spectacular diving here in North Sulawesi. We are all concerned with the news around the world, but the safety of our combined staff and guests is of paramount importance.

Take good care of yourselves!
