Airplanes waiting

Due to the risks associated with COVID-19, the Indonesian government have decided to stop all commercial passenger air traffic effective immediately. This regulation will be in place until June 1st 2020.

This “flight ban” applies to both domestic and international flights.

And it’s not just flights that are grounded – the same is at least partly true for Indonesia’s expansive ferry network across the peninsula. Another tool in mitigating the infection rates of the Coronavirus.

Naturally, certain exceptions can be made if necessary, such as repatriation flights and medical supplies, but these are at the discretion of the government bodies throughout the country.

Most if not all airports will remain operational, but only to track and guide all other aircraft through Indonesia’s airspace.
