There are many different ways to express gratitude. For many, a simple “thank you” makes all the difference. When guests are checking out of our resorts, there’s plenty of hugs with many a “thanks for everything” whispered into our staff’s ears — sometimes even accompanied with a few tears!

But Audrey from Indonesia took her expression of gratitude a giant step further: a few weeks after she stayed with us, we received this email:

It has been a while since we left and Pauline and I truly miss Lembeh. I miss it so much that I recently completed an art piece and would like to share it with you and the rest of the Lembeh staff! This art piece included most of the memorable sea creatures we saw in Lembeh and Manado, including turtle, white-tipped reef shark, jellyfish, frogfish, and flamboyant cuttlefish.

We don’t get many messages like this every day, so to know that a guest was so impressed with everything makes it extra special. Here is the lovely art piece:

There are many easter eggs within this piece too where I drew in nudibranchs, shrimps, 2 peacock mantis shrimp, orang utan and decorator crab, and even 2 pygmy seahorses. With this, I hope to encapsulate the art of muck diving!

We really have enjoyed our stay with Thalassa, and this art piece also acts as a token of appreciation and gratitude to Thalassa. Once again, hope you had a good New Year and see you all in the future! 

We are at a loss for words. Next step is to print and hang in it in our resorts so you can see it for yourself next time!
